You will be collected from your accommodation for this 3 1/2 hour return trip over the highest main road in New Zealand, the alpine Crown Range, which takes you from Queenstown to the Cardrona Hotel. From Arrow Junction, near Arrowtown, you will have uninterrupted views as you begin the steep and winding climb up what is known as ‘The Zig Zag’ to the 1121-metre summit for a photo stop. From here you will be overlooking some of the Wakatipu Basin’s most spectacular scenery. One of New Zealand’s oldest and most iconic hotels, the historic Cardrona Hotel, was built in 1863 during the height of the Otago gold rush. Once a prosperous settlement, Cardrona’s old hotel, with its 1860’s historic façade, is only one of two remaining buildings from the gold rush era. Once at the Cardrona Hotel you will enjoy a complimentary drink of your choice, and have an hour to explore what Cardrona has to offer..
Glenorchy Jewel Tour
You will be collected from your accommodation for this 3 hour, spectacular scenic return trip to the sleepy lakeside settlement of Glenorchy at the head of Lake Wakatipu. The vista will be uninterrupted as you travel along a beautiful, winding road, taking in some of the Wakatipu’s most uplifting views. Stop to take in the incredible panorama from atop Bennett’s Bluff as one of many photo stops along the way.
Once in Glenorchy you will have 40 to 50 minutes to enjoy a complimentary drink of your choice with time for more photographs.
GIBBSTON VALLEY TOUR
You will be collected from your accommodation for this 2 1/2 hour return trip which takes in the internationally, award-winning Gibbston Valley Winery.
Here you will have one hour to enjoy a complimentary drink of your choice and the chance to sample some of the renowned Gibbston Valley Wines.
There will be an opportunity to visit the speciality cheese shop and purchase your favourite cheeses, as well as buying your favourite bottle of Gibbston Valley Wine direct from the vineyard. Other vineyard tours within the Gibbston Valley are available upon request, if the the above winery does not suit.
