Our Story

Great friends Jason and Amy matched him up with Trudy-Lee, a Mobile Mortgage Manager for a major bank who had vowed to her daughter, Summer, that she would never ride on a motorbike.
However, Gary’s zest and enthusiasm for his long-held dream to launch an upmarket, customised, three-wheeler trike tour business soon had her hooked. From Banker to biker, Trudy-Lee quickly made the transition, hopping on board with Gary’s dream and within a few months they’d moved together to beautiful Jack’s Point, near Queenstown.

It was a smooth transition for Trudy-Lee, who, despite struggling with her helmet clasp in those early days, brought a touch of class to the back of the bike in her Trelise Cooper leather jacket.
It was Jason who advised Trudy-Lee that it was “a Harley rally, not a fashion show”. Trudy-Lee also brings a lot of valuable business acumen to Queenstown Trike Tours. “I’m a corporate person who sits behind a desk, but Gary’s riding ability has made me feel so safe right from the outset,” she says. Trudy-Lee, who’s faced major health issues in the past, is all out for living life full throttle these days. “I’m so excited for everyone like me to suit up in biker gear, break out and just experience the sensation of the wind in their hair,” she says. Formerly Rotorua-based, Trudy-Lee, a Top National Performer for a major bank, hasn’t given up her banking career though, securing a new position as a Mobile Mortgage Manager in the Queenstown,Otago-Southland region..

A Motocross rider and motorcyclist, Gary also brings many years of business experience to Queenstown Trike Tours, driving heavy transport and owning his own transport company in Christchurch.
As a kid, Gary became hooked on bikes and all things wheels. Japanese road bikes and Harley Davidson’s became his passion. Gary’s been on numerous HOG rallies, taking him to Hawaii and the United States to ride.
He’s all about sharing the exhilaration of open air cruising, while showcasing the lake splendour and mountain majesty of the Wakatipu and Wanaka to others, encased in the cosy, comfort of the twin, heated leather seats of Queenstown Trike Tours’ custom-made Rewaco Trike. Imported from Germany, the Rewaco Trike offers the perfect, uninterrupted vantage point from which to explore the region. There’s nothing to obscure the breathtaking alpine views, with plenty of scheduled photo stops along the way.

Trudy-Lee shares Gary’s infectious love of all things bike and assures that all passengers are in safe hands with Gary’s skills at the helm.
“I’ve dreamed of launching a trike tour business for almost seven years,” says Gary. “Trudy-Lee really believed in my dream and together we’ve established Queenstown Trike Tours NZ Ltd. We’ve found the perfect location and we’re excited to share our dream and passion with everybody,” he says.
“It’s something I never thought I’d do,” says Trudy-Lee. “It’s a real rush and a thrill riding such high-octane, high horsepower with the breeze in my hair,” she says. “The Trike Tour is so much fun, showcasing Queenstown and Wanaka’s natural beauty while seated in comfort, feeling safe and secure wearing a seatbelt.”
